Gordon THD

I know a little dog
    You should know him too
His name is Gordon THD
    Because he can quiet you
Gordon is a therapy dog
    Cute and fun to love
But he’s a Yorkie
    And means business
         Wearing his doctors look
He makes his round
    At the hospital
Distracting children
    Who need their shots
He’s there to help the doctors
    Be assured he helps a lot
A crying child who’s terrified
    Loves this dog so instantly
Gordon’s personality reaches out
    And catches them
         Just what the doctor needs
He’s many things
     So many new friends
Independent and confident too
    But to the doctor
Using Gordon’s talents
    He’s a nurse
Who comforts you

Let’s talk about food
    For your puppies
Dogs don’t just eat meat
    They like other things too
Think of apple slices and carrots
    Or even string cheese for something
That’s totally brand new
 Puppies should eat
    At least twice every day
Eat at regular times
     And control the amount they say
Keep his water bowl full
     He loves a drink
Follow it up
     With a trip outside
Structuring his habits
    With exercise
Eat , sleep, and play
    You’ll find that’s the way
To make his bones
     Grow very sound
Set up a schedule
     Same time every day
So he knows
    When his food will go down
Or he may just remind you
     With the antics of a clown

Basenjis are dogs
    That do their own thing
These hunters do not bark
     They make howling noises
You know sort of sing

They reproduce in the winter
    So puppies can survive
High heat can be to harsh
   To keep newborns alive

Their behavior is reserved
    They don’t jump up on you
They’re short haired and clean
    A great looking crew

Just brush them weekly
    Clip nails, keep them clean
You’re exactly right
    Wonderfully disciplined
And never mean

They love to run
    Then lie in the sun
A perfect companion
    When day is done

I am prince, your old, old dog
    I’d been around a good long time
We lived together twenty years
    With days of riches and nary a dime

How are love grew
    With each passing day
You always anticipated  my needs
    Displayed in every way

I could almost predict your actions
    Such love was there for me
I shall miss you, dear Master Jim
    At days end, as you can see

We traveled life’s road together
     Each day was perfectly spent
Sniffles and tears won’t bring you back
    Love and kisses are surely sent

You made my life a perfect scene
    Our time together was wonderful too
Blue skies, green grass, and love displayed
